A Comment On Canada

Since I live in Canada, I want to impart a quick comment on the current situation.

The trucker convoy has put the country is at the centre of the world. A position we’re not used to. This focus of attention usually falls to our friends in the United States for obvious reasons.

But at the centre we are. The world is watching.

I watch with dismay how government officials and media have mischaracterized and misreported on the protest to the point we’re on the cusp of the Prime Minister invoking an ‘Emergencies Ac't’. to deal with a ridiculously peaceful protest where people pick up after themselves, hugs abound, people playing hockey. bouncy castles enjoyed by kids, eating pancakes all the while being cooperative with police who off the record see no problem with the protests.

The honking has ceased while key areas of the city of Ottawa remain functional and lanes now open at the Ambassador Bridge linking Ontario-Michigan where a significant 25% of trade takes place between Canada and the U.S.. Unfortunately the RCMP are arresting citizens for merely protesting.

All for a virus with an overall 99.985% survival rate and where less than 1% of people (regardless of vaccine status) get infected and hospitalized.

This is a hysteria that has gone on too long and has divided this country like I’ve never seen.

More troubling is another fabrication by public official where they claim mandates are keeping Canadians safe resulting in one of the best performing countries.

Whatever the criteria they use, the literature does not back their claims up as this site attests and documents.

There is simply no solid study linking correlation between restrictions and mortality.

To state otherwise is to mislead the public.

And as such very concerning.

I don’t know why they’re doing this.

All I know is it’s not science.
